The Odisha state government decided to open all the heritage and tourist place in the odisha from first week of October, said Tourism Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi on Sunday. The minister said that the reason of reopen based on occasion of International Tourism Day.
Mr Panigrahi said Odisha tourism has sustained massive loss due to the pandemic and therefore the government took the decision to reopen tourist destinations with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
“More than 358 govt. recognised tourist places will be reopened in 1st week of October. Apart from this the other tourist places, which are not recognised by govt will also be reopened. To ensure that the tourists will be strictly follow all COVID. The Health and Family Welfare Department will issue a standard operating procedure (SOP),”Panigrahi said.
LORD JAGANNATH TEMPLE REOPEN
He added, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and Law Department will jointly take decision on the reopening of Jagannath Temple. The department of law will also decided on the reopening of the other temples in the state.
ECO TOURISM PROJECT
He said Eco tourism project has been widely acclaimed tourists. As per him government has decided to set five new destinations this year. “Besides, government has launched an exclusive project to attract more tourists to Odisha.
