Bhitarkanika is a Mangrove Forest covered with numerous creeks and mud flats is known to have one of the largest populations of endangered saltwater crocodile in India. It is surrounded by beautiful green mangroves, migrating birds, turtles, crocodiles etc and also gives Scholars, Scientists, Nature and Wildlife Photography lovers and Tourist an freedom and joy of experiencing its beauty.

It is basically represented by three protected areas namely “Bhitarkanika National Park”, “Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary” and “The Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary”. And is also home to a large number of flora and fauna such as mangrove forests, creeks, estuaries, backwater etc and wild boars, monkeys, jackals, common langur, otter, sambar deer, jungle cat fox, wolf, etc respectively.

Things to Do:

Sightseeing, Scenic Boat ride, Mouth-watering Foods, Bonfire, Family Get Togethers, Photography, Research work ( with proper permission of course).

How to Reach:

By Air- Bhubaneswar airport is the nearest way of transportation to Bhitarkanika with a distance of 160kms.
By Road and Rail- It is well connected with different cities and towns of Odisha. With Bhadrak being 40kms, Cuttack 140kms and Bhubaneswar 160kms
