Berhampur lies on the eastern coastline of Ganjam district. It has been given a nickname of ‘THE SILK CITY’ because of it’s famous silk sarees called ‘BRAHMAPUR PATA’. Though it does not have a lot to offer in terms of tourist places but you can surely visit it for experiencing the feel of a busy Indian street and as well as it has a lot to offer in terms of street shopping options and some great food discoveries. The city has a huge market for fruits especially mangoes and handwoven crafts and silk. Bada Bazaar, Annapurna Market and Bhapur Bazaar is the famous markets in berhampur for street hopping.
Famous Dishes- Not everyone knows that ‘THE SILK CITY” is also famous for it’s achaar(pickle), papad(popadum) and badis. Apart from these some more things which are worth trying are Chicken pakoda, Cashew and Coconut lassi, Biryani, Mutton curry etc. Afterall who doesn’t loves fast foods!!!

BY AIR– Currently it doses not have a airport on it’s own. The nearest aiport is 153kms away i.e, Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneshwar.
